KUALA LUMPUR: Graphic pictures showing the devastating health effects of smoking has had an impact on smokers, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

It had also deterred young people who were considering smoking to give up the idea.

“I have my own circle of friends who gave up smoking after seeing the pictures on cigarette packs and in the print and electronic media,” he said at his ministry yesterday..
