Bangladesh’s current health warnings policy came into effect in 2006. Text-only health warnings are required to cover 30% of the front and back of all cigarette packages and must clearly state that smoking causes death, stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, breathing or other health problems.
Regulations for the implementation of pictorial health warnings are currently being negotiated. Pictorial warnings are tentatively expected in 2016.
