On April 4, 2011, the Ukraine finalized legislation that will require all cigarette packs to carry a pictorial health warning by October 4, 2012. Under the new requirements, ten pictorial health warnings will be rotated on cigarette packages, and are required to cover 50% of the front and 50% of the back of packages, including the border. The pictorial warnings will appear on the back of the packages, while a text warning (Smoking kills) will apear on the front of the package. Overall, 50% of overall package space will be appropriated to health warnings.
